JAKARTA, November 26, 2025 – The 7th edition of the World Financial Innovation Series (WFIS) Indonesia concluded today at the Raffles Jakarta, marking a decisive shift in the nation’s financial trajectory. Against the backdrop of Indonesia’s ascent to a gross domestic product (GDP) exceeding one trillion dollars, over 600 senior decision-makers gathered to architect the next phase of the digital economy.

While major “KBMI 4” banks and regulators shared center stage, a major focus this year was the MSME sector, long recognized as the backbone of the economy, representing 90% of enterprises and 70% of the workforce. This underserved yet economically critical segment became the focal point of a provocative session delivered by AND Solutions.

The Two-Minute Loan: Rethinking Lending in Emerging Economies

In a landscape where the MSME credit gap in Indonesia sits at a staggering $235 billion, with an average loan processing time of three weeks. Addressing this challenge, Batbaatar Purev-Ochir, Head of Sales and Partnerships at AND Solutions, delivered a pivotal session titled "The Two-minute MSME loan: Rethinking MSME Lending in Emerging Economies."

Batbaatar highlighted a striking truth: traditional MSME lending is too slow, too manual, and too reliant on collateral, resulting in millions of eligible business owners being excluded from formal financing channels. The problem is not demand—but friction.

1. A Tale of Two Markets: Mongolia and Indonesia

Drawing comparisons from Mongolia and Indonesia, Batbaatar explained how MSMEs in both markets face:

  • Lengthy & complex loan processes
  • Rigid repayment schedules
  • Stringent documentation & collateral requirements

These issues were visually represented in the WFIS deck, where traditional SME loan timelines stretch 1–4 weeks (far slower than consumer or auto loans)

“The friction in traditional lending isn’t just an inconvenience—it is an economic barrier.”

In both markets, the inability of legacy systems to process small-ticket loans cost-effectively has left millions of creditworthy entrepreneurs stranded.

2. Success Story: AI-Driven Digital Lending

The core of the AND Solutions showcase was a proven success story: the deployment of AI-driven technology to slash loan processing times from weeks to minutes.

A transformation powered by AND Solutions’ proprietary technologies:

  • AI Document Processing
  • Automated Scoring
  • Auto Approval
  • Instant Disbursement

All of which come together into a fully digital process capable of delivering MSME loans in under two minutes

The "Two-Minute Loan" is not a concept but an operational reality. By automating the entire lifecycle: from KYC (Know Your Customer) to credit scoring and disbursement. AND Solutions demonstrated that true digital lending requires zero human intervention for the vast majority of applications. This shift allows financial institutions to serve the MSME segment profitably, turning a "Corporate Social Responsibility" (CSR) obligation into a sustainable revenue engine.

3. Localizing Technology for Southeast Asia

Crucially, the discussion focused on "Localizing proven lending technology across Southeast Asia and Indonesia." Technology is not one-size-fits-all; it requires adaptation to local regulatory frameworks like Indonesia's Personal Data Protection (PDP) Law and specific market behaviors.

AND Solutions provided evidence of this localization in action. The team highlighted their strategic partnership with PT AEON Credit Service Indonesia, where they have successfully deployed an AI-driven Custom Credit Scoring solution. This collaboration exemplifies how global tech stacks can be tailored to enhance customer experiences and streamline operations within the unique context of the Indonesian market.

WFIS 2025 Signals the Shift to the “Intelligence Phase”

This year’s WFIS theme centered around Agentic AI. Autonomous systems capable of reasoning, analyzing data, and making predictive decisions at scale. According to the event discussions, Indonesia has already completed the infrastructure phase of digital transformation. The next frontier is the intelligence phase, where AI systems orchestrate entire lending workflows end-to-end.

Banks like Mandiri and BCA emphasized modernization of their core systems, while AND Solutions showcased how intelligence-driven automation can make MSME financing:

  • Faster
  • Fairer
  • Scalable
  • More profitable

A New Reality for MSMEs: Loan Access in Minutes, Not Months

For Indonesia’s 65 million MSMEs, the innovations highlighted at WFIS 2025 represent a transformational shift. Access to financing—which traditionally required multiple branch visits, substantial collateral, and weeks of waiting—can now be completed digitally, instantly, and securely.

As shown in the WFIS presentation, 75% of MSMEs are underserved because they lack traditional collateral, despite having stable business cash flow. The Two-Minute Loan model directly targets this gap.
